We are looking to support projects that improve local peoples’ quality of life. In particular we would like to support North East people where, perhaps through economic, geographic, environmental or social discrimination they have limited access to facilities, learning opportunities or the chance to meet and mix socially.
Such groups and projects may include those that help:
- Children and young people access activities and services.
- Vulnerable people – and work with disadvantaged and isolated people, providing increased access to services and facilities for the homeless, the elderly and people with disabilities.
- Environmental community regeneration – and aim to improve local facilities for community use – perhaps by refurbishing community buildings, cleaning, greening and opening up access to the local recreation areas.
- Education, capacity and skills development – by providing group and community-based-training and education programmes, particularly for those who have had no previous access to training opportunities or the long-term unemployed.
- Promote Health – perhaps by providing access to healthy eating, increased physical activity and self-help services which can improve health and well being.
Grants from Esh Charitable Trust can be used as match funding unless expressly excluded in the offer letter we send you.
You can only apply for one grant in each financial year. If you are unsuccessful in your application you cannot re-apply for the same project at a later date.
Unfortunately funding is temporarily suspended at present and is to be reviewed in January 2012.
